Limits

Reference date

Limits are shown for the 7 and 28 days ending on this date (UTC days).

New duty

Duty and FDP

  • Duty runs from show to the final landing, plus the post-landing minutes when the last sector is operated.
  • FDP runs from show to the last landing as operating crew (7.2.10). When the day ends with positioning, enter the last operated landing: the positioning is duty, not FDP. Positioning before the first operated sector is part of the FDP.
  • Post-landing min.: added to FDP only if you tick the setting.
  • Ground transport at the start stays inside the duty. At the end it is not duty, see Travel.

Type

  • Flight: gets the FDP check.
  • Office, training: counts as duty. 7.2.12 counts it toward cumulative limits only when followed by an FDP; the app always counts it.
  • Standby only: the % in Settings (25%) counts as duty (7.2.17.1). Not used in rest checks.

Limits

  • Operated sectors set the max FDP from Table 1 (7.2.10.1): 13:00 for 1–2, 12:30 for 3, 12:00 for 4, 11:30 for 5, 11:00 for 6+. Passive positioning is not a sector.
  • WOCL: limit reduced by 100% of the encroachment (max 2h) if the FDP starts in the WOCL, or 50% if it ends in or spans it. WOCL taken as 02:00–05:59 Lisbon time.
  • Extended FDP (Table 2, 7.2.10.1.1) is used only when ticked as planned. Max two in any 7 days, not with 6 sectors, with more than 2h of WOCL only for 1–2 sectors, capped at 11:45 for FDPs starting 22:00–04:59. Rest after it increases by 2h, or 4h if the rest before was not at least 2h above the minimum (2h on the first day of a tour).
  • Discretion (7.2.18): up to 2h over the planned limit, for unforeseen circumstances after the FDP started. EXCEEDS is over even that.
  • Split duty (7.2.13): break of 3:00–6:59 adds half, 7:00–9:59 adds two thirds. Other conditions not checked.

Rest

  • Minimum rest: the longer of 11h and the previous duty (7.2.21.2). Reduction to 10h (7.2.21.5) not included.
  • Time zones: 3 zones 14:00, 4 zones 14:30, 5 zones 15:00, 6+ 24:00 (7.2.21.4).
  • Travel: over 30 min adds the excess to rest (7.2.21.6).
  • Weekly rest: 36h, never more than 168h between weekly rests (7.2.21.3). The app flags any duty that ends after the deadline. Two local nights not checked; the record is assumed to start after a weekly rest.

Accumulated (7.2.12)

  • 60 duty hours in 7 consecutive days (up to 70h only for positioning to the gateway followed by an extended weekly rest). 190 in 28 days.
  • Duty crossing midnight is split between days (UTC). Every duty in the log shows its own 7 and 28-day totals.
  • Not tracked: block hours (100/28 days, 900/year), 2000 working hours per year.

Briefing

  • Reads the SHOW line for date and show time, and each line with Z and (L) times as a sector. Ground transport lines are not sectors; airline or positioning lines count as positioning.
  • Photo: read on the phone with Tesseract (Apache 2.0), works offline. Always check the times.
